Chisel

Rounding rounds the edges of a single shape. Prisms, Trapezoids and Oblongs also have a Bevel, which rounds their upright corners separately. Both use one of the five profiles.

The teal Rounding arc dragged outward, Ctrl held at the end: the box's edges round

Adjust modal (B)

With the Chisel tool active, press B and move the mouse to change the Rounding of every selected shape that has one. Moving away from the active shape raises it and moving toward it lowers it; all selected shapes change by the same amount. The current value is shown next to the cursor.

KeyWhat it does
Shift (held)Precision: a tenth of the speed
Ctrl (held)Snap to 0.1; with Shift, to 0.01
1 – 5Profile: Round, Sharp, Soft, Tight, Chamfer (numpad too)
SOn a Chamfer: drag its Smooth instead; S again goes back
Click, Enter, SpaceConfirm
Esc, right-clickCancel

A Lathe’s Side Rounding has no profile: 1–5 and S do nothing on it.

B, a move outward, then 2, 3, 4, 5, 1 and a click: the box's edges change profile

Rounding and Bevel arcs

Two of the adjust arcs around the selection start the same drag. Drag an arc outward to raise its value; the keys above work while dragging.

  • Rounding (teal, bottom right, innermost): the Rounding of every selected shape (a Lathe’s Side Rounding).
  • Bevel (green, bottom left): the Bevel of every selected Prism, Trapezoid and Oblong, and every corner of every selected Ngon.

In the menus

  • Pie Q, South-West: on a Prism, Trapezoid or Oblong, the bevel profile icons, Bevel and (on Chamfer) Smooth; then the rounding profile icons, Rounding and (on Chamfer) Smooth. A Lathe shows only Side Rounding.
  • Right-click: Bevel Profiles ▸, Bevel, Smooth; Rounding Profiles ▸, Rounding, Smooth, in the same order.
  • Tape tree: right-click a shape for its Bevel and Rounding.

The Rounding, Bevel and Smooth entries start the drag described above. The profile icons and submenus set the profile on every selected shape.

Limits and known issues

Cancelling keeps the profile

Esc restores the radius, but a profile picked with 1–5 during the drag stays. Confirm and press Ctrl + Z to undo all of it.

Rail: no Rounding row in the panel

In 5.0.0 a Rail’s SDF panel has no Rounding row. Use B, the Rounding arc or the right-click menu.
