Keymap
Every Chisel key, grouped by where it works. Most keys belong to the Chisel tool and work only while it is the active tool, so they never override Blender’s keys elsewhere. A few work from any tool. To change a key: Edit ▸ Preferences ▸ Keymap, the tool’s keys under 3D View Tool: Object, Chisel, the Tape tree’s under Chisel Tape Tree.
Any tool
| Key | What it does |
|---|---|
Alt + Q | Makes the Chisel tool the active tool |
X / Delete over a point’s dot | Removes that point. An Ngon, Outline or Lathe keeps three points; a Tube, Rail, Sweep or Bisect fence keeps two. With no dot under the cursor, Blender’s own delete runs |
Chisel tool, Object and Edit
| Key | What it does |
|---|---|
Tab | Switches the tool between Object and Edit, on a Chisel shape or with nothing active. On any other object it stays Blender’s Edit Mode |
RMB | The right-click menu |
D | The tool’s popup: Edit, the Mode and its settings, see Chisel Tool ▸ The D popup |
Q | The pie menu. Elsewhere Q stays Blender’s Quick Favorites |
Shift + A | The Add Chisel Primitive menu |
B | Rounding drag on the selected shapes |
Ctrl + B | Blend drag on the Boolean and Carve modifiers that use the selection |
Ctrl + D | Duplicate Chain: copies the shape with the shapes its joins use, see Right-Click Menu |
Alt + D | Duplicate as Boolean: copies the shape into its own stack as a Union blended by 0.5, see Boolean. Off a Chisel shape it stays Blender’s Duplicate Linked |
[ / ] | The previous / next type of the selected shapes |
; / ' | The previous / next operation of the joins that use the selection |
V | Veil: hides the shapes with Render off, except the selection |
Alt + V | Unveil: shows the hidden shapes the selection uses or parents |
Shift + Alt + V | Unveil, and selects what it showed |
[ / ] and ; / ' repeat while held. The type cycle runs Sphere, Box, Oblong, Ngon, Cylinder, Cone, Torus, Capsule, Prism, Trapezoid; path shapes, Text and Mesh shapes keep their type. The operation cycle runs Difference, Union, Intersect, Emboss, Engrave, Carve (not Slice).
Quick booleans
The selected shapes join the active one. Each works from the number row and the numpad.

|---|---|
Alt + − or NumPad − | Difference |
Alt + = or NumPad + | Union |
Alt + \ or NumPad / | Intersect |

LMB click | Selects the shape under the cursor and deselects the rest |
Shift + LMB drag | Box select, adding to the selection |
Space | Block mode only: sets the custom drawing plane from what is under the cursor; again: back to Face. In the other modes Space stays Blender’s |
